New Italian restaurant Bar Italia opening at Lindey’s Lake House location in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, Ohio — For the better part of the fall, the scuttlebutt around Lakewood’s culinary scene had to do with changes afoot at Detroit Avenue restaurant Lindey’s Lake House, which opened its doors in 2019.

It turns out that the rumors were true, with Lindey’s Lake House being renamed and rebranded Bar Italia. The new eatery is expected to open later this month.

“Honestly, COVID killed us,” said Next Cool Restaurants (NCR) CEO Rick Doody, the restaurateur behind Cedar Creek Grille, 17 River Grille and Lindey’s Lake House.

“Our carryout business has broken. What we realized is while the Lindey’s Lake House menu doesn’t lend itself that well to carryout, what was working were the pasta dishes we added to the menu during the shutdown,” he said.

Frank Sinatra’s favorite NYC Italian restaurant is opening a N.J. beach pop-up next week

One of New York City’s most beloved Italian restaurants is taking a quick trip to the Jersey Shore.

Patsy’s Italian Restaurant, a Theater District staple since 1944, will launch a pop-up at Asbury Park’s historic Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel starting Feb. 5, the restaurant announced on Facebook.

The pop-up will be open for three months and be staffed by employees from the original restaurant, according to, offering a la carte dining Fridays and Saturdays and family-style dining on Sundays.

Wendy Williams’ ex Kevin Hunter opening restaurant in Brooklyn

Wendy Williams’ ex-husband is serving up Italian.

Kevin Hunter is opening an Italian restaurant in Downtown Brooklyn named Loreto, he announced on social media.

“Time to work on MY LEGACY!!” he captioned a video of the restaurant’s exterior. “For a kid from Brownsville Brooklyn this is a dream come true. To be apart of an amazing team to create something so extraordinary.”

Hunter is working with “partners” Finesse and “The Brother’s (Johnny and Robert).”

“I look forward to nothing but success,” he continued. “Continue to thank God for the blessings.”

He described Loreto as “exquisite high end Italian cuisine” and said it will be hosting a soft opening on Feb. 14.

Hunter’s announcement comes days after Williams, 56, poured her soul out in her documentary, “Wendy Williams: What a Mess!,” and revealed the truths about her tumultuous marriage to Hunter.
